Ingredients for Cinnamon Roll Cruffins:
Puff Pastry: I love to use puff pastry as the dough in my cruffins. It never fails and is an affordable and a much quicker way than using homemade croissant dough. Feel free to use homemade croissant dough if you have it on hand!
Salted Butter: I always like to use a grass-fed salted butter from Costco, which provides so much flavor. Feel free to use whatever brand you have on hand.
Brown Sugar: I used light brown sugar here, but dark will also work!
Cinnamon: Always give the most warming flavor and is essential to anything cinnamon roll flavored.
Tips for Making Cruffins:
The recipe calls for heart-shaped ramekins, however, they’re not required! If you have round ramekins, feel free to use those. If you don’t have ramekins at all, you can use a standard 12-cup muffin tin, and they’ll turn out just as perfect!
Whatever you use to bake the cruffins in, make sure to generously butter the bottom and around the sides — this will prevent the cruffins from sticking
If the cruffins are uneven once removed from the oven after puffing up, use your fingertips to gently press them down to even out.
